Waterways Walks - 2008 Season

These walks are offered free-of-charge to all members and the general public, and no booking is required. They are all led by Inner London committee member Mike Biggs. If you'd like to find out more about a walk please contact Mike on 020 7274 1853 or mikebiggs4@aol.com.

Wednesday 7 May: MILE END TO BROMLEY-BY-BOW
Down the Regent's Canal to Limehouse Basin, thence along the Limehouse Cut to its spectacular junction with the River Lea at Three Mills.
Meet at Mile End Underground Station (Central/District Lines) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 21 May: OSTERLEY TO HANWELL
A walk through National Trust parkscape, and along the Grand Union Canal and River Brent to Hanwell. Short bus journey then connects with Ealing Broadway Underground.
Meet at Osterley Underground Station (Piccadilly Line) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 4 Jun: BLACKHEATH TO NORTH GREENWICH
Using a new route, crossing Blackheath to explore Greenwich Park, then along the River Thames as far as the Millennium Dome. This is a longer walk than usual.
Meet at Blackheath Station (National Rail from London Bridge) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 18 Jun: TOWER HILL TO CANADA WATER
Past a chunk of the Roman City Wall, then over Tower Bridge to venture as far as the Surrey Docks and an exploration of Russia Dock Woodland, Stave Hill Ecology Park and Greenland Dock. This is a longer walk than usual.
Meet at Tower Hill Underground Station (District/Circle Lines) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 2 Jul: BARNES BRIDGE TO HAMMERSMITH
Crossing the Thames and alongside Duke's Meadows, we divert for an exploration of Chiswick House grounds, and finish along Chiswick and Hammersmith Malls.
Meet at Barnes Bridge Station (National Rail from Waterloo) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 16 Jul: BAKER STREET TO KING'S CROSS
Traversing Regent's Park and through Queen Mary's Rose Garden, then along the Regent's Canal, over Primrose Hill and past Camden Lock to King's Cross.
Meet at Baker Street Underground Station (Bakerloo/Jubilee Lines) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 30 Jul: HARLESDEN TO PADDINGTON
Along the Paddington Canal passing Kensal Green Cemetery and Paddington Basin.
Meet at Harlesden Underground Station (Bakerloo Line) - 6.45pm

Wednesday 13 Aug: RICHMOND TO BRENTFORD
Over the Old Deer Park, along the bit of the Thames skirting Kew Gardens, then an exploration of the southern end of the Grand Union Canal.
Meet at Richmond Station (National Rail from Waterloo) Station - 6.45pm

Wednesday 27 Aug: WANDSWORTH TO BARNES BRIDGE
Following the Thames westwards through Putney and visiting the Leg o' Mutton Nature Reserve.
Meet at Wandsworth Town Station (National Rail from Waterloo) - 6.45pm
