Some walkers may choose the railway branch in our walk guidance for section 11 because they are interested in the special features along the disused line. In particular some will want to see the mouth of the Paxton Tunnel - see page 13 of our walk guidance.
At the moment the abundant growth of brambles means that it is not at all easy to 'pass to the right of the games court' as our guidance suggests.
It is possible to enter the court through the first gate and then to peer through the far gate which is kept locked. Walkers should be warned that much of the architecture is obscured by ivy and other growths as shown by the lower image shown on this page of a web site about disused stations.
