We have had a report that work is going on in the eastern section of Beckenham Place Park around the entrance from Old Bromley Road. The gate and large park information board have been removed and replaced with work fencing as shown in the image below.
The Green Chain sign, now well worn, has been moved back. The gate and fence described in the third and fourth paragraphs of our walk guidance for this section are currently missing.
The walker following the route did not realise this was the park entrance as it is not obvious. As a result he ended up going down the lane down round the corner which leads to the football grounds.
Walkers need to take care not to miss the entrance.
