A walker has reported that the path on top of flood embankment south of Yarnton Way and Wolverton Road is currently blocked for construction works just south of the footbridge over the two roads. There is no signed diversion but there is a relatively straightforward way round.
Walkers can descend to street level and follow the parallel path beside the flats on the west side of the embankment. This path joins a street, Overton Road, and a little further on, by a terrace of houses with sawtooth roofs, there is a ramp back up to the embankment past the closure.
There is no information to state how long this will last. Clearly contractors have been refurbishing the path and other public realm on top of the embankment as the open part to the south appears to have been recently renewed and improved. This is good, but it would be nice to have a notice to explain what is going on and a signed a diversion!
