In April 2022, HS2 announced plans for a short diversion around a work site alongside the Grand Union canal just south of Harefield Marina as shown in the map below. The work was expected to take just a few weeks. A year later the diversion is still in place. It is not a major inconvenience but seems likely to persist for some time now that HS2 work has been curtailed.
