• Route: London Loop
  • Section#: 11

We have had a report from a walker that on  Thursday 03 October the path to the west side of Little Britain Lake was flooded, and due to its location directly next to the lake was not passable.

This is not a new problem as you can see from the news item we published in March this year - but it is early days for flooding to be an issue.

If wet weather continues there is a possibility that this path may be inaccessible for months. Every winter more of the surface washes away downstream.

The image is a screenshot showing the route taken by the walker on the day because of the flooding. This route ran east along Packet Boat Lane then turning north on Old Mill Lane.

An alternative diversion starts west along Ford Lane and then turns right along Iver footpath 28 which leads to the river bank further north. This diversion is on firm tracks, and there has never been any flooding further north of a the weir that is just south of where FP28 reaches the river bank.
