We are working with the rangers of St Paul's Cray Common and the National Trust to re-route the Loop through Petts Wood. The new route will have the advantages of by-passing a section of the path which is uneven and very muddy. It will also mean that the the Loop will visit both the William Willett and the Edlmann memorials.
New posts with waymarks are being installed. So far a new post has been installed, with waymarks, directing walkers going in the conventional clockwise direction down the revised route which passes the Willett memorial and then leads them back onto the original route. Those coming in the opposite direction are pointed off the original route then led past the memorial before rejoining the original route at the new post.
The posts are being funded by London LDWA, South Bank Ramblers and Inner London Ramblers.
