In February 2023 we reminded you 
that our walk guidance for Loop sections often states that the paths can be very muddy after heavy rain. Please take note and be warned that at the moment some sections are again excessively muddy.
Today, for example we have had a report about the state of section 13. We are told that this was a glorious section to walk but that the part that approaches the A404 from Bishop's Wood is really muddy - so not for anything less than robust walking boots. This walker suggests that dogs would have a mud bath and it is certainly not a route for prams!
The image to the right shows the state of a field in section 14 near Pinnerwood House on a frosty day when it was navigable because the ground was frozen. At other times the mud created by the trampling by horses can be soft and more than boot deep.
