We have previously reported that new fencing has appeared along the path round the wood after passing the old gate posts from Pyrgo House. The fencing surrounds a horse ride that runs around the wood along the line of the original footpath. This part of the walk is described in paragraphs 4 and 5 of page 5 of our walk guidance for the section.
Another report has confirmed that this is not a serious problem. After turning right and passing the old gate posts, walkers should just walk to the right of the fence beside horse ride until they reach the top corner. Then they should turn left as before to continue by the new fence. Walkers can rejoin the original path once the fence ends and continue to the corner of the wood as before.
The waymarks and signposts mentioned in our walk guidance have been removed.
