A walker has reported two issues affecting section 16 that he experienced when walking this part of the Loop at the beginning of August 2025.
The narrow path leading south from Barnet Lane is extremely muddy and wet, even in the midst of a dry summer In places it even becomes a running stream. Acccording to this walker the path is not suitable for walking on even in midsummer.
Then just before the bridge over the stream in Scratchwood there is now a fallen tree (see the last paragraph of our walk guidance). It is quite difficult, but not impossible, to get over this hazard.
